Job Overview

The Senior, Production Business Development focuses on developing strategies to expand current and future tentpole events. This role collaborates closely with all Macy’s Studios lines of business to plan and execute initiatives such as market expansions, new tentpole events, and extensions of larger marketing efforts, including hospitality and loyalty programs. The Senior evaluates, organizes, and project plans potential opportunities while partnering with cross-functional leads to address long-term priorities, such as the Fireworks 50th anniversary and Parade 100th anniversary. This position reports to the Senior Director, Production Management.

 

What You Will Do

  • Lead the identification and execution of new business expansion opportunities for the Macy’s Studios team.
  • Develop strategies for new tentpole initiatives in collaboration with all lines of business.
  • Collaborate with teams to explore extensions of current events, such as Holiday, Fireworks, and Parade opportunities, focusing on enhancing loyalty customer experiences.
  • Create detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and decision milestones, for expansions and new business initiatives.
  • Work closely with team members to gather data, evaluate concepts, and outline execution requirements, timelines, and budgets.
  • Coordinate and streamline strategies for Fireworks 50 and Parade 100 initiatives, managing timelines, budgets, and decision milestones for leadership review.
  • Allocate and manage resources to support project needs effectively.
  • Oversee external vendor relationships, including initial discussions, onboarding, and ongoing management.
  • Regularly update key stakeholders on project progress and address any challenges requiring resolution.
  • Track and maintain overall budgets and timelines for all approved projects.
  • Identify and address potential issues within project timelines to ensure successful delivery.
  • Partner with Macy’s Studios to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Provide post-event recaps to assess results and evaluate the success of each initiative.
  • In addition to the essential duties mentioned above, other duties may be assigned.

 

Skills You Will Need

Project Management Expertise: Proven ability to manage complex projects with a solutions-oriented mindset.

Television Production Experience: Familiarity with the production process and event execution at scale.

Budget Management: Demonstrated experience overseeing budgets effectively to meet financial objectives.

Strategic Ideation: Ability to conceptualize and propose innovative ideas for events and initiatives.

Proficiency with Technology Tools: Knowledge of project management and content software to streamline workflows.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Skilled at interacting with and building strong relationships with internal and external partners at all levels.

Exceptional Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities to convey ideas clearly.

Creative Problem-Solving: Adept at resolving challenges with logical and innovative approaches.

Attention to Detail: Meticulous focus on accuracy and thoroughness to ensure flawless execution.
