Job Description

 

The Senior Court Operations Consultant works independently planning, implementing, and managing Dependency Court Improvement Program projects. The position supervises and directs the work of staff on a variety of problem-solving court technical assistance activities; evaluates and recommends methods for providing the delivery of dependency court services; and coordinates, facilitates, and conducts training programs for judges, court staff, and child welfare stakeholders. The position supports the management of grant deliverables, budgeting, and contract management. The position establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with judges, magistrates, court personnel, child welfare system partners, clerks of court, attorneys, and the general public. This position participates on numerous interagency workgroups to improve court processing and the delivery of services to children and families in the child welfare system.  

The primary duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provides project management for federal dependency court improvement projects.
  • Provides staff support to the Dependency Court Improvement Panel and Steering Committee on Families and Children in the Court.
  • Oversees technical assistance activities for dependence problem-solving courts.
  • Provides direct supervision to and oversees the work of staff members.
  • Provides staff support on continuous quality improvement strategies for Dependency Court Improvement Program.
  • Participates in interagency workgroups.

 

Education and Training Guidelines

 

Education

Refers to job specific training and education that is recommended for entry into the position. Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis.

Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, court/judicial administration, court/judicial management, business management, legal studies, or a closely related field.

Experience

Refers to the amount of related work experience that is recommended for entry into the position that would result in reasonable expectation that the person can perform the required tasks. Additional relevant education may substitute for the recommended experience on a year-for-year basis, excluding supervisory experience.


Six years of related work experience, including two years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.

This position is funded through the federal Dependency Court Improvement Program grant. This position may be full-time remote eligible if the selected candidate resides in an area outside of Tallahassee, Florida.
