Novelis – Richmond has an exciting opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Specialist. This position reports to the Process Engineer.  We will provide a detailed training plan as we are here to provide opportunity for success.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities Include:

• Lead or co-lead various Improvement Events – Rapid Improvement Events, Value Stream Analysis, 6s, Standard Work, Flow Cells and DMAIC projects resulting in measurable business improvements.
• Partner with Process Owners, Project Sponsors, and other CI resources to drive results.
• Coach and support Green Belts and line management in continuous improvement activities
• Assist in identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
• Define the scope and financial justification of improvement opportunities.
• Become an expert in the use of Lean and Six Sigma tools; ensure that the tools are used appropriately by team members.
• Report CI Events status and results

Required Qualifications:

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in relevant experience required.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years in continuous improvement
• High degree of understanding of WCM management system
• Six Sigma or Lean black belt training/certification or Lean certification required, includes both education and the hands-on ability to lead teams and implement improvements.
• Proven ability to successfully implement improvement within an established time frame, then sustain improvements.
• High energy, data driven, and results oriented.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal communication skills and organization skills, must be comfortable instructing and addressing large groups at all levels of the organization from shop floor to senior leadership
