JOB IDENTIFICATION:
Job Title: Prairie Lakes Building Supervisor
Grade: V - $15.00/hour
FLSA: Non –Exempt, Hours not to exceed 950/year
Department: Recreation
SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to: Athletics & Facilities Manager/Supervisor
Supervises: Babysitters and Front Desk Associates
BASIC FUNCTION:
The Prairie Lakes Building Supervisor, under the direction of the Superintendent of Recreations, is responsible for the supervision, security and safety of Prairie Lakes Community Center during scheduled work hours (weekends only). The Prairie Lakes Building Supervisor is responsible for greeting the public, answering questions and supervising part time staff. This position will also assist other park district employees with any questions or situations that may arise. Set-ups and light cleaning will be required.
SCHEDULE: Weekday, morning and afternoon shifts needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Supervise all facility staff.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons when encountering them in the facility including, greeting with a smile and assisting the general public as they enter the building.
- Uphold all building rules.
- Sound understanding of building operational needs.
- Complete daily/nightly checklists, to be turned in to supervisor.
- Ensures cash control policies and procedures are followed and assist with cash out procedures.
- Assist Front Desk associates when they are busy or in the event of customer related issues.
- Have a general understanding of RecTrac and POS to assist with issues when they arise at the front desk.
- Understand all staff positions and be able to fill in as necessary.
- Respond to any emergencies and administer first aid or CPR when needed. Complete necessary reports. Direct patrons in the event of an emergency, such as fire, severe weather.
- Be aware of all activities scheduled in the building during shift and assist with room set up and break downs as necessary.
- Regularly check all rooms and restrooms in the building by walking around during entire shift, except when needed at the front desk.
- Clean up and empty trash, restock paper products, wipe down surfaces and clean fitness equipment as needed.
- Monitor bulletin boards, flyer frames and bins and all other printed materials to make sure that current information is posted and supplies are replenished.
- Curtail any misuse of the facility or its equipment.
- Secure building at the end of the night.
- Understand all staff positions and be able to fill in as necessary.
- Report maintenance, disciplinary, complaints, suggestions and special or unusual situations.
- Give tours and be able to address inquiries concerning memberships, rentals and other building functions.
OTHER DUTIES:
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual and Crisis Manual.
- Assist program instructors, facility users, other staff and renters with any needs.<
