Responsibilities
As a Senior Director Business Operations, Head of Programs you are ultimately responsible for the successful delivery of client projects and internal business improvement initiatives. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the program management team, ensuring that programs and departments work together in a successful, organized, and efficient way to deliver client specifications while meeting financial commitments of the company.
Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:
- Successfully work across internal functions, program teams, and with outside partners and suppliers to deliver complex projects and ensure the business operations run smoothly.
- Develop innovative business solutions and define the best practices for project deliveries for the future.
- Analyze, assess, recommend, and implement solutions to complex business problems to drive best value for customers and shareholders.
- Recommend and operate strategies that have a direct impact on the long-term success of the business.
- Work with teams to establish new processes, systems, solutions, and products using conceptualization, reasoning and collaboration.
- Develop clear management plans (e.g., communications, risk, etc.) to successfully execute the business.
- Manage and support the program teams cost and schedule performance throughout the delivery of the contracts.
- Partner with the sales and business development organization to create strategies and repeatable business models that deliver new and profitable growth to the company.
- Manage and support client contracts to ensure the company meets its obligations.
- Partner with legal to develop win-win contract management strategies.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or a related field, with a minimum of 15 years related experience in the aerospace and defense industry or government contracting environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing program management teams to deliver and sustain projects and programs.
- Demonstrated experience directly managing multi-year programs.
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills and self-starter nature.
- Experience with technology acquisition and integration into the company portfolio.
- Demonstrated experience with red-programs and turnarounds.
- Working knowledge of Firm Fixed Priced, Cost Reimbursable, and Time and Material contracting structures in FAR based programs.
- Strong communication skills and ability to report complex business concepts internally and externally at C-suite and senior leadership levels.
- Ability and willingness to work in a highly collaborative environment and in promoting a teamwork mentality during times of transformation.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead in a distributed environment.
- Knowledge of proposal development process for large government contracts.
- Travel is expected to be approximately 25% of the time.
- US citizenship is required.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in business or a related management field.
- Working knowledge of business development, marketing, and sales in the global market.
- Ability to communicate and work closely with C-suite leadership to drive business initiatives and integration activities.
- Strong track record of delivering integration outcomes and gm savings.
