About the Role

Come be a part of an amazing team creating internal software applications for the Dream Chaser Spaceplane and more! In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying maintainable software and data tools that will power missions to the International Space Station and beyond. The products you develop will help shape the future. Come make history with us.

We’re looking for dreamers who align with our values, vision, and audacious goals – while also meeting the minimum qualifications below. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement
 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
• Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of required education
• Thorough understanding of Computer Aided Engineering tools
• Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices
• Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams

Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent communications skills
• Proficiency with software languages such as Python, JavaScript, HTML, C++, and SQL
• Experience with software design, architecture, and data structures
• Knowledge of coding standards and best practices
• Experience testing, maintaining, and deploying production software applications
• Ability to break down tasking and mentor junior team members
• Experience documenting and communicating project status
• Ability to create comprehensive software documentation
• Understanding of software development methodologies such as Agile/Scrum
• Experience with UI/UX design and implementation
• Experience with API and Web Development (e.g. FastAPI, React)
• Experience with Desktop Application Development (e.g. PyQT, Electron)
• Experience with CI/CD tooling (e.g. Jenkins)
• Experience with Containerization and Orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes

Physical/Mental/Emotional Requirements:

• Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps
• Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity
• Rarely lifting or carrying up to 20 lbs.

Working Conditions:

• Rarely exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)
• Rarely exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials
• Rarely exposed to loud noises
