As a Manufacturing Team Leader - Production Quality Assurance, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality standards in our manufacturing processes. In this role, you will lead a team of 16 hourly professionals, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards. Your leadership will directly contribute to delivering safe, high-quality products on time and at optimal cost.

Job Description

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of manufacturing and quality assurance professionals.
  • Foster a culture of Respect for People, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Ensure team alignment with GE Aerospace’s Behaviors and SQDC priorities.
  • Oversee quality control processes to ensure compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address quality issues.
  • Monitor and analyze quality metrics, driving improvements to reduce defects and enhance product reliability.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles and tools (e.g., Kaizen, Standard Work, Hoshin Kanri) to optimize production processes.
  • Lead initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall operational performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Ensure all manufacturing and quality assurance activities adhere to safety standards and regulations.
  • Promote a culture of safety and proactively address potential risks.
  • Maintain compliance with GE Aerospace policies, procedures, and industry certifications.
  • Manage daily production schedules to meet delivery targets and customer expectations.
  • Coordinate resources, materials, and equipment to ensure smooth operations.
  • Address production challenges and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on production and quality performance.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and customers.
  • Prepare and present reports on quality metrics, production efficiency, and improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field from an accredited college or university (or High School Diploma/GED with 6 years of manufacturing and leadership experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing, production, or quality assurance roles

Additional Information

  • This position requires U.S. citizenship status.
  • Ability and willingness to work on-site at the Bohemia, NY facility 7:00am- 3:30pm with some Saturday coverage, which is 6:00am-12:00pm based on business needs.

  • Proficiency in lean manufacturing principles (e.g., FLIGHT DECK, Kaizen, Standard Work).

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing or a related industry.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001, or FAA/EASA requirements.
