About this role

Team Overview:

Data Operations and Solutions is entrusted with maintaining all data integral to the investment decision process. The function serves BlackRock the Investment Manager and its BlackRock Solutions (BRS) business, in our proprietary Aladdin® end-to-end investment platform. This team closely partners with key internal teams, such as Portfolio Management, Global Capital Markets, Relationship Management, Portfolio Compliance, Risk Analytics, Regulatory Reporting, and others, to ensure their business data needs are met accurately, timely, and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high quality client service externally and internally. Address inquiries, perform controls, Data modeling, resolve problems, and mitigate risks for clients and internal BlackRock Business partners.
  • Learn the intricacies and interconnectivities of Aladdin® end to end investment platform.
  • Gain broad experience in Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives, and Alternatives, across the vast global investment marketplace.
  • Investigate and resolve impenetrable and intricate issues and perform adhoc analysis of large data sets while adhering to timelines
  • Initiate and drive platform and process innovations to support new business needs, minimize risk, improve quality, and navigate the changing markets.
  • Utilizing research skills, critical thinking to analyze and market trends to incorporate into improvement proposals to QC models and methodologies
  • Close collaboration with Product owners to expand understanding of products and data flow.
  • Interacting with clients and business partners to serve as a security-level expertise desk to provide outstanding customer service
  • Performing testing of modules developed for in-house processes
  • Ability to operate in an agile environment and adapting agile methodology principles in day-to-day work

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required, with preference to business fields such as Finance, Accounting, or Economics, and technical areas such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering.
  • A “Student of the Markets” mentality: Intellectually curious with a passion for learning about the global financial markets and the investment management business.
  • Natural teammate able to work in an innovative, ambitious, and fast paced environment.
  • Have flexibility regarding their work hours.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with agile critical thinking and a problem-solving approach.
  • Knowledge of SQL, UNIX, or Python would be a plus; desire to expand technical expertise preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of fixed income, equity and derivative instruments is a plus
  • Experience with Project Management and familiarity with Agile methodologies is a bonus.

For Seattle only the salary range for this position is $76,000 - $95,000.0. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
