The Department of Neurology is seeking a customer-focused Patient Service Representative to provide administrative and patient support services in a dynamic clinical setting. Reporting to the Clinic Manager, this role serves as a key point of contact for patients, delivering exceptional service while supporting clinic operations and upholding UCLA Health's CI-CARE standards. Responsibilities include scheduling appointments through the electronic medical record system, verifying insurance eligibility and obtaining authorizations, maintaining accurate patient demographic information, and managing patient registration and check-in processes. In this role, you will also collect payments, ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures, and serve as a liaison between patients, providers, nursing staff, and other healthcare team members to promote a seamless patient experience. This position plays an important role in supporting high-quality patient care and the efficient operation of the Department of Neurology.

Salary Range: $30.36-$43.49

Required:
  • Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities
  • Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with Faculty, Staff, Administration and patients from various social, cultural and economic backgrounds.
  • Ability to creatively integrate competing demands into a productive working environment.
  • Skill in verbal communications to clearly convey complex problems in both formal and informal situations.
  • Ability to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with a patient population in varying degrees of health
  • Ability to provide coverage for Community Clinics as assigned.
