About the role

Job Summary

This position is responsible for supporting real estate transactions and lease accounting. This includes working with the business to test leases for operating vs capital, ensuring compliance with ASC 842, preparing lease disclosures, as well as providing ad hoc net book values on various properties. This position is also highly integrated in the monthly accounting close process and quarterly reporting process for leases and PP&E, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations as well as providing supporting information for external reporting.

Primary Activities and Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance with lease accounting standards as required in ASC 842
  • Provides support to real estate group for net book values and other requests
  • Supports the monthly close and quarterly reporting processes as well as ensures compliance with internal controls
  • Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3 or more years of experience in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or Finance

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate Degree with 3 or more years of experience in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or Finance
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

 

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and controls
  • Oracle Financials skills
  • Microsoft Office skills (including Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Crystal reports / Business Objects skills
  • Ability to influence without authority
  • Ability to work and interact with employees throughout all levels of the organization
  • Process improvement oriented
