The Hinckley Company is seeking a Data Entry Clerk for the Portsmouth, RI location.  The Data Entry Clerk will prepare, compile and sort documents.  Will also utilize a computer-based inventory control system, and the work is performed under the supervision of the purchasing manager.


Essential Duties:

  • Notes out-of-stock items and provides out-of-stock lists to the purchasing team.
  • Assembles wooden/cardboard containers or preassembled cartons and selects appropriate filler to protect contents during shipping.
  • Responsible for stocking/restocking shelves in predetermined inventory locations.
  • May complete charge slips in response to requisition for materials and parts and records in computer inventory system.
  • Performs annual physical inventory regular cycle counts and investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.
  • May drive to outlying work areas to check status of orders or to deliver/pick-up materials.
  • Follow defined instructions and procedures in performance of tasks.
  • Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain safe, clean work area.
  • Conducts product ordering for both inventoried items and non-inventoried consumables as needed.
  • Owns inventory accuracy of the stockroom. Coordinates appropriate cycle and physical counts of stockroom areas under supervision.
  • Ensuring appropriate turnaround time on all data entry.
  • Reviewing and entering all material charge sheets.
  • Ensures appropriate documentation of all material leaving the stockroom.
  • Proactively verifying data through source documents.


Requirements


  • High School or general equivalency degree (GED).
  • Technical Skills, Microsoft office experience for reporting and tracking. 
  • Strong organizational, accurate keying, computer and communication skills are required.
  • Must be able to work well with others and maintain a constructive work environment with minimal supervision.
  • Must be organized and detail oriented with an emphasis on accuracy.
  • Ability to model the Company's values.
  • Ability to work Monday - Friday on site 8:00-4:30 and Saturdays as needed until noon.
