Senior Accounting Analyst

American National is actively seeking a full-time Senior Accounting Analyst to join our ever-growing investment finance team. The investment department is a high-profile unit that is directly involved in new initiatives and supporting organizational goals. To thrive in this position; you should be comfortable managing your work independently, have working knowledge of GAAP standards, exposure to investments/financial reporting, consolidation background, and professional industry experience.

Onsite Placement Locations: Houston and League City Texas

 

How you will make an impact:

• Prepare, review, and/or analyze GAAP and Statutory financial information related to the Company's real estate and real estate partnership investments for inclusion in SEC and NAIC quarterly and annual filings
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidation of real estate subsidiaries and manage the external audit process
• Reconcile accounts and roll real estate and real estate partnership assets
• Analyze financial statement elements, including trend and variance analysis to ensure compliance with accounting and reporting standards, and monitor accounting and regulatory changes affecting financial reporting
• Perform legal document reviews, variable interest entity, and consolidation analysis for all new real estate partnership investments
• Participate in and/or lead as assigned for cross functional projects
• Research and provide guidance on complex accounting issues and document as needed

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or Finance 
• Real estate consolidation experience
• CPA or active pursuit is preferred
• GAAP accounting standards
• Ability to work hours outside of normal business operations during peak periods
