Job Description

We’re looking for a senior software engineer to join the recently revamped ECS Premium team to help us develop and deliver new and exciting features. 

What you’ll be doing 

Working with the ECS Premium engineering team to develop new features that are both customer facing and back office related. You’ll be working alongside other engineers in both a code creation and decision-making capacity as we grow and scale. 

  • Developing features from back end to front end using a modern tech stack that includes GraphQL, Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and more. 

  • You’ll work closely with other engineers on the premium team to build out web applications related to exciting new features for ECS’s premium customers. 

  • You’ll also work with other engineering teams at Experian using internal APIs developed by those teams to integrate and enhance existing features. 

  • You’ll be involved at all stages of the development life cycle: initial analysis, implementation, integration, testing, debugging, and support. 

  • Helping the Premium team automate and streamline workflows.

Qualifications

What your background looks like 

  • You’re comfortable or at least familiar working with the full stack of technologies we use (see bullet 1 of “What you’ll be doing” above) 

  • You’re a quick learner with solid foundational knowledge in programming concepts 

  • You’re willing to dive in on topics that may not be familiar to you 

  • You’ve developed a full stack web application either at work or in your free time 

  • You’re not afraid to admit that you don’t know something 

Knowledge and Experience 

 

  • 3+ years of experience working on front end web applications, preferably applications written in React and/or TypeScript 

  • 3+ years of experience working on back-end applications 

  • 3+ years of experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL is a plus) 

  • Experience with Git for version control 

  • Experience with SideKiq is a plus 

  • Familiar with basic UX/UI design principles (you know a good design when you see it, but may not be able to create it yourself) 

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Excellent organizational skills 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay range for this position is listed above.  Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors such as job-related skills, experience and education.  This position is also eligible for a variable pay opportunity and a comprehensive benefits package which includes health, life and disability insurance, generous paid time off including paid parental and family care leave, an employee stock purchase plan and a 401(k) plan with a company match.
