Job Description:

Johnson and Johnson is recruiting for a VP – Innovative Medicine Americas and Commercial Categories Procurement role located in New Jersey.

The Vice President, J&J Innovative Medicine Americas and Commercial Categories Procurement role is accountable for ensuring that the Procurement organization delivers results in support of the J&J Innovative Medicine business strategy and objectives.  The role works directly with the Company Group Chairs who lead the Americas business, as well as the country managing directors, regional business leaders, CFOs, and regional finance directors to align Procurement’s activities. The role provides oversight and direction for the J&J Innovative Medicine Global Commercial Categories.  These categories include Agencies & Media, Data & Analytics, Access & Affordability, Sales & Distributor Services, and Marketing Operations. The role provides leadership for the Procurement function with specific responsibilities for talent development, community building, and regional functional coordination where appropriate.

The role’s scope of responsibilities include:

  • Determine the J&J Innovative Medicine business priorities in the regions and devise Procurement strategies to advance those priorities.

  • Collaborate with senior business leaders to ensure Procurement strategies meet the business needs, and are embraced within the business

  • Identify pharmaceutical industry trends that Procurement must build into its category strategies to ensure relevance to the J&J Innovative Medicine business.

  • Provide oversight to category teams responsible for global category strategy development and implementation, and key supplier management, for the relevant categories.

  • Lead major strategic negotiations in the categories, as the need arises.

  • Participate in the J&J Innovative Medicine Procurement Leadership Teams to provide leadership to the function globally in the achievement of business objectives.

  • Set performance targets for the J&J Innovative Medicine Procurement organization in the areas of responsibility and ensure target achievement.

  • Lead talent development and community building for area of responsibility.

Qualifications:

  • Required minimum education: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent

  • 15+ Years of related experience

  • Strong business acumen – ability to understand challenges from the perspective of regional business leaders

  • Influencing skills – ability to persuade others to change behavior in pursuit of a common goal

  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills at the senior executive level, as well as with peers

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to confidently present complex information to senior executives

  • Broad-based understanding of core procurement areas of focus (spend management, category management, and supplier management)

  • Strong project and change management capabilities

  • Demonstrated learning agility, and the ability to improve both yourself and those around you

  • 10% International and Domestic travel required
