The role
The Accounts Receivable Specialist II will be responsible for tracking and collecting open AR, timely research and resolution of outstanding payment issues, and monitoring and resolution of cash applications. The Accounts Receivable Specialist II will be engaged in process improvement activities as well as training accounts receivable team members.
Where you’ll work
This is a hybrid role and requires in-office collaboration four times per week. This position is located in Irving, Tx.
What you’ll be doing
Understands unique customer payment processes and effectively implements strategies that affect prompt payment from customers.
Diligently uncovers customer and billing issues and takes appropriate action to resolve issues preventing customers from making prompt payments.
Executes established guidelines and takes collection action when necessary.
Meets or exceeds key performance metrics and goals, including % of A/R greater than 90 days, daily calls, promise to pays’ etc.
Consistently follows up on aged accounts, and receivable items, and tracks the status of contact and payment through contact logs, noting the nature of each contact, results, and any follow-up action that must occur. Independently follows through on required actions.
Accurately prepares customer statements and aging files as needed. Review the aging of past due invoices and unapplied payments; follow up with the customer and/or sales team to ensure timely resolution of disputed and/or unpaid invoices.
Proactively conducts account research and analysis in a timely manner, sharing knowledge with team members in a collaborative manner.
Proactively monitors unapplied cash and assists in cash application corrections.
Utilize customer portals and third-party programs for special billing, research, and dispute/claim handling for assigned accounts.
Appropriately escalates issues and recommends action plans/resources for implementation.
Swiftly brings recurring issues and discrepancies to management's attention and collaboratively works to implement sustainable solutions.
Communicate timely and effectively with sales and facility staff to obtain documentation to resolve customer questions, disputes, credits, short pays, etc.
What you’ll need
Associate's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business preferred.
4+ years of business-to-business experience in an Accounts Receivable role.
Strong experience with ShiftKey’s core technology applications, including NetSuite, HighRadius, Salesforce, Microsoft Office 365, Google Suite, and Slack products, as well as the ability to learn new applications quickly.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written); able to interface with personnel at all levels (internally and externally) as a result of strong customer service skills.
