About the role
Environmental Services Associate
Location: North Hospital
Schedule: 10:30pm to 7:00am and every weekend
Summary:
Provides cleaning and sanitizing services to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming hospital environment. Supports patient safety by following infection control standards and hospital protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Clean and disinfect patient rooms, clinical/procedural areas, offices, and public spaces
- Follow infection prevention, safety, and waste disposal protocols
- Remove hazardous and biohazardous waste per regulations
- Use approved cleaning tools and light floor‑care equipment
- Collaborate with clinical teams to support patient care flow
Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience preferred
- No prior experience required; training provided
Physical & Environmental Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, squat, and lift 35 lbs. or more than 80% of the shift
- Requires ability to climb ladders and operate cleaning equipment for cleaning floors in patient care areas
- Must wear required PPE (gowns, gloves, eye protection, closed‑toe footwear)
- Requires the ability to perform cleaning in high‑acuity areas including OR, ED, NICU, Mother‑Baby, IR, and Cardiac Cath
