Job Summary
The IT Senior Security Engineer will be responsible for the administration and support of security system software/hardware either at the Enterprise, Mid-Range or Desktop levels. Knowledge requirements include security principles, theories and concepts at a network and/or application layer, and access control technologies such as firewalls, content scanners, usage monitors, encryption, VPN and wireless. Provides direct technical support for all requirements in the planning, coordination, programming, and implementation of releases, upgrades or changes to security system software and hardware, and the range of products and productivity tools that support the testing and production environments relating to any associated operating systems. Ensures stable performance of relevant security related hardware/software for the enterprise through performance monitoring and tuning and performs capacity planning. Ensures system maintenance as well as high level support of the operating system and all the related security software and hardware components. Plans and implements major software upgrades, ensuring change management procedures and methodologies are implemented and followed.
Principal Responsibilities
-Lead efforts to counter security breaches and anticipating and reducing the likelihood of security alerts, incidents, and disasters
-Enhance cybersecurity operations by defining, planning, implementing, maintaining, and upgrading security measures, policies, and controls
-Aid in IT security governance development and gap analysis. Organize vulnerability management operations by conducting daily threat assessment review to ensure adequate response to deter / stop system compromise and manage plan for remediation
-Create and maintain operational reports for key performance indicators and weekly/monthly metrics. Generating planned and ad hoc reports on network security posture - access violations, event aggregation, detection statistics, remedial actions
-Assist with the creation of updates and training programs to secure the network and train the employees
-Conduct vulnerability testing and risk analyses to assess security and performing internal and external security audits
-Analyze security breaches to identify the cause and to update incidence responses and disaster recovery plans
-Verify and coordinating security plans with outside vendors
-Researches and evaluates products
-Designs and implements software

-Responsible for the installation, configuration, testing, and documentation of software
-Conducts software upgrades and maintenance

-Provides technical support including trouble shooting and problem resolution

Preferred Requirements
-Security Principles & Technology - Advanced knowledge in administration functions of primary security products; ability to integrate primary products into overall security program; access control systems; and security models, principles and concepts.
-Maintenance & Monitoring - Advanced knowledge in primary security products for monitoring performance & tuning; installation & configuration; and implementing customizations.
-Advanced knowledge in security scanning tools.
-Related Skills/Knowledge - Working knowledge of operating systems, networking, databases, browser technology, programming, and IT general control processes.
-Technical Support - Advanced skill in day to day issues: problem solving, change management, etc.
-Minimum of five (5) eight years of related experience
Education/Certifications
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent work experience and technical training.
