Accounting Manager (Hybrid)

Electrum is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our growing team. As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the company’s accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and financial reporting. You will report to the CFO and play a key role in supporting our rapid growth and scaling our accounting operations.  This is a unique opportunity to get direct, hands-on leadership experience in a disruptive climate-tech startup.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day accounting operations including: accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger accounts, and general ledger adjustments
• Lead the monthly close process and streamline closing activities
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
• Provide actual to budget and variance analysis
• Determine and ensure continued compliance with appropriate accounting treatment for existing operations and new business initiatives
• Implement and maintain GAAP compliant internal control procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information
• Coordinate with the company’s external auditors and tax preparers
• Lead the implementation of new systems and accounting software in partnership with the IT department and outside vendors.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA is preferred
• 5+ years of experience in accounting at with at least 3 years in a management role, experience in a PE/VC-backed company is a plus
• Strong knowledge of GAAP as well as ability to interpret and implement new accounting policies and procedures
• Accounting experience within solar, sustainable energy, technology, utilities, or similar industry is preferred
• Experience scaling and developing high performing professional accounting team
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced dynamic environment
