Senior Analyst, Tax

The Opportunity:

As a Senior Analyst, Tax you will serve as one of the primary operational contacts for funds. You must have an understanding of tax compliance. In addition, you will assist the team with assigned duties and organizing special projects.

Your responsibilities will be to:

• Assist in coordinating with third-party tax service providers, supporting smooth collaboration and timely completion of tax domestic and international filings and reports.
• Support the coordination and tracking of fund tax compliance activities by assisting with the review of tax return deliverables prepared by external tax service providers.
• Ensure timely completion of tax filings, K-1 distributions, investor tax reporting, and related payments, while maintaining tax calendars to meet all compliance deadlines.
• Act as tax liaison with outside tax advisors, consultants, auditors, and fund administrators.
• Coordinate with internal/external departments to ensure that tax issues, positions, policies and guidelines are documented and implemented correctly and consistently across all funds
• Assist with investor requests and inquiries, often collaborating across internal departments including product and sales teams.

Your background will include:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent required
• 3+ years of related fund tax accounting or tax compliance experience including peer reviewing and interacting with outside service providers; CPA/MST/MACC/MBA highly valued.
• Experience with reviewing partnership agreements, carried interest calculations and Forms: 1065, 1120, 1120-F, 1120-RIC, 1042, 8804, 8802
• Strong working knowledge of the private investment fund industry and technical experience including closed end fund Limited Partnership Agreements, investment structures, tax allocations and carried interest provisions, federal withholding rules, state and local compliance, and international provisions
• Demonstrated ability to multitask in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while effectively managing and prioritizing competing demands.
• Excellent oral and written communications, analytical and organizational skills are required
• Must be self-reliant and able to interface effectively with clients, peers and opposing parties with minimal oversight.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). 
• Demonstrated ability to identify and recommend process improvements.
• Willingness to take initiative, ask thoughtful questions, and contribute ideas to improve team processes.
• Eagerness to take ownership of assigned tasks and contribute to team goals.
