The Assistant Plant Manager guides day-to-day operations for multiple segments of industrial, specialty, and medical distribution and gas filling. This position assists in coordinating gas cylinder processing, ultrasonic testing, and compliance with FDA, DOT, OSHA, EPA, SAFECORE, and other regulatory standards.

• Guides two or more plant associates, lab staff, or drivers. Welcomes, trains, and cross-trains new team members to maintain steady workflow.

• Partners with other Plant Supervisors to organize cylinder filling, optimize workflows, and minimize physical cylinder handling.

• Promotes a strong safety culture by addressing unsafe acts or conditions immediately. Serves as a supportive first responder in emergency situations.

• Assigns tasks based on customer needs, stock levels, and individual expertise. Balances production schedules and maintains accurate time and production records.

• Implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality to advance team efficiency. Inspired to support team members in reaching operational goals.

• Partners directly with the team to analyze and resolve operational hurdles. Participates in process improvements by identifying risks and proposing proactive safety changes.

• Recommends or initiates associate actions, including new hires, promotions, transfers, and collaborative performance alignment plans.

• Coordinates inventory levels, manages safe system start-ups/shutdowns, and oversees the connection, testing, and tracking of cylinders.

• Ensures compliance with safety procedures (such as lock-out/tag-out). Enters daily production data and reviews technical documentation like SOPs, P&IDs, and PFDs.

• Additional duties and projects as assigned.

Are you a MATCH?

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in industrial operations is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in plant operations, industrial maintenance, or a related field is preferred.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.

• Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

• Flexibility to work shifts and overtime as needed.
