The Senior Corporate Accountant is responsible for the timely preparation of journal entries, analysis, and various account reconciliations for the Company.  The position actions the more complex accounting activity, including communication with various levels of internal customers within the Company. The Sr Corporate Accountant reports to the Corporate Accounting Manager. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Critical contributions this role is counted on to deliver include: 

• Be the subject matter expert for Sr Corporate Accounting duties assigned: Coupons, Insurance, Worker Compensation, and DTC entries.  Backup others on the team as appropriate 

• Maintain an in-depth analysis of reserves on the balance sheet including accrued liabilities.  Ensures that liability accounts provide an accurate reflection of company’s current financial condition  

• Prepare appropriate entries, reconciliations, and analysis, including monthly allocations and eliminating entries between business units. 

• Create transactions in compliance with IFRS and company policies 

• Research and communicate with various parties within and outside the organization to identify issues and provide solutions related to areas of responsibility  

• Maintain documentation of current processes and look for areas of improvement in efficiency and effectiveness.

The ideal candidate is knowledgeable in general accounting practices. You are motivated and driven to understand and improve processes.
