About the role

Description

Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is seeking (non-exempt?) adjunct faculty for its developing Doctor of Physical Therapy Program.  Licensed physical therapists with the following qualifications will be considered: doctoral degree, licensed or eligible of licensure in Maryland, and previous teaching experience.

Adjunct instructors will primarily assist in laboratories alongside core faculty.  Skills laboratories exist across movement science and clinical management courses including topics of anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, movement analysis, motor learning, motor control, motor development, and management of musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary, integumentary, and complex conditions.  Applicants must provide evidence of clinical expertise in at least one of these areas to be considered.

The DPT Program at Johns Hopkins is in development.  Selected adjunct faculty will be expected to participate in the accreditation process by providing requested documents in a timely manner.  Selected adjuncts are also strongly encouraged to participate in trainings and an accreditation visit to take place in the summer of 2024.

Qualifications

1.       DPT/tDPT -OR- PT/MPT and academic doctorate (PhD, EdD, DSc, DHS, etc)

2.       Active physical therapist license in MD -OR- active license in any US jurisdiction and eligible for physical therapist license in MD

3.       Previous teaching experience, academic or clinical setting

4.       Demonstrated clinical expertise in a practice area or setting

The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting.  Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range.  The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.
