About the role

Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Marketing is a pivotal role within Marketing in moving initiatives forward, as well as helping establish a long range plan and driving the commercial success of the Anesthesia and Analgesia portfolio. This includes maximizing revenue and gross profit for products in the pharmaceutical division by providing market analysis, branding influence, strategic planning, and tactical execution within the Anesthesia and Analgesia portfolio.

This position is heavily reliant on interacting with multiple Fresenius Kabi business functions including Product Development, Regulatory, Medical, Legal, Project Management, Manufacturing, Business Analytics, Contract Marketing, Customer Service, Supply Chain, Sales, and National Accounts.

This is a hybrid position, and the selected candidate will be required to work onsite in the Lake Zurich, Illinois office 3 days a week.

Salary Range: $140,000 - $160,000 per year. Position is eligible to participate in a bonus plan with a target of 14% of the base salary. Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain an understanding of Fresenius Kabi’s Anesthesia and Analgesia, including current and future market trends, products, and competitors.
  • Actively champion assigned products through feasibility, development, commercialization, and post-commercialization to ensure target sales and gross profit objectives are achieved.
  • Actively contribute and create business and marketing plans to drive strategic initiatives and tactical execution for the Anesthesia and Analgesia portfolio.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the future pipeline products and their characteristics and requirements, and work with the Business Unit to assess patent issues, competitive landscape, manufacturing challenges, pricing and market dynamics, and barriers to entry for new product development.
  • Create and lead the go-to-market strategy for new product launches and line extensions. Lead the commercial launch execution including the development of product positioning, pricing strategy, and product forecasting.
  • Collaborate and support the Field Sales and National Accounts Sales teams. Provide sales training and educational materials, provide promotional materials, and other company approved materials to drive sales and meet company financial goals for the portfolio.
  • Conduct continuous surveillance of the environmental landscape in order to assess and make recommendations of future product needs to help achieve business goals. Define market research needs and works with Director of Market Research to design research studies to inform customer requirements and product development.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align forecasting goals between the Market Unit and the Production Unit Work with internal/external manufacturing, supply chain, and customer service to ensure accurate and timely forecasting for new and existing products.  Includes monthly analysis of key variances and market drivers to help improve forecast accuracy.   
  • Actively work with business analytics team -and lead the regular forecasting cycles to derive market and product assumptions. Develop a thorough understanding of key product performance metrics including sales variances and contract compliance opportunities.
  • Provide pricing recommendations to help maximize portfolio sales and gross profit. Serve as a resource and partner in the various sales channels such as specialty distributors, wholesalers, and group purchasing organizations.  Work with National Accounts, Trade Relations, Business Analytics, and Contract Marketing.
  • Work in collaboration with Business Unit Portfolio Team and Business Development to make go/no go recommendations on new pipeline candidates as well as assess the market potential for creative line extensions that augment our competitive advantage.
  • Support the Market Unit and Business Unit in the annual strategic plan process by assessing the competitive landscape, channel opportunities, and platform initiatives. Lead the strategic plan for the Anesthesia and Analgesia portfolio
  • Identify and resolve emerging issues that may impact project, department, or corporate goals.  Recognize potential threats to success and elevate issues to senior management.  Propose solutions, resolve conflicts within cross functional teams when possible and make recommendations for process improvements.
