General Description:
The Responsible Business & Sustainability (RB&S) Manager will be responsible for managing and reporting global sustainability data while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and disclosure obligations. The position also involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance the organization’s RB&S initiatives through research, communication, and grantmaking activities. The role will report to the Executive Director, Responsible Business & Sustainability.
Essential Functions:
- Track, analyze, and report local and global data to fulfill internal requirements and external disclosure obligations.
- Perform gap assessments of current disclosures vs. regulatory requirements, as needed.
- Oversee qualitative and quantitative data collection for the annual Responsibility Business & Sustainability (RB&S) Report in collaboration with the RB&S Data and Controls Manager, including management of data platforms and report design.
- Prepare and submit detailed responses to investor rating organizations, including CDP, Sustainalytics, MSCI, and ISS.
- Work alongside the RB&S Data and Controls Manager to design and implement effective data controls that ensure adherence to disclosure requirements and standard operating procedures for reporting.
- Monitor evolving regulatory requirements around the world, ensuring timely tracking of deadlines and compliance thresholds as the company grows and expands in new territories.
- Partner with the Communications team to develop and execute a comprehensive annual communications plan promoting RB&S initiatives, including content for the RB&S Report, BeOne Care Foundation grants, and employee volunteerism, through writing and maintaining content across various channels.
- Assist in the implementation of the global employee volunteer program by coordinating volunteer events and supporting volunteer ambassador program, reporting, and quarterly updates.
- Contribute to the development and execution of grantmaking initiatives and operational activities for the BeOne Care Foundation.
- Research and assess emerging sustainability technologies and trends (e.g., AI resource utilization, Lifecycle Assessment platforms) for their potential business impact and adoption.
Minimum Requirements – Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Business, Communications, or related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in sustainability and/or corporate social responsibility program management.
Other Experience:
- Strong understanding of sustainability and ESG principles.
- Familiarity with corporate philanthropy, volunteerism and corporate social responsibility.
- Familiarity with voluntary ESG disclosure frameworks as well as emerging regulatory disclosure requirements.
- Familiarity with sustainability raters and rankers, such as Sustainalytics, ISS, MSCI and CDP.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to build compelling business cases.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience preparing clear reports and presentations for diverse audiences.
- Experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
- Ability to work independently while fostering collaboration across teams
