The Opportunity 

As the Training, Coaching, and Technical Support Lead for a Regional Educational Laboratory (REL), you will lead the design and delivery of professional learning and technical assistance activities co-developed with education stakeholders that build capacity to use data and evidence to improve student outcomes. You will oversee a portfolio of training, coaching, and technical support activities. This role is central to translating research and data into actionable practice for educators, policymakers, and education leaders.

This role is contingent upon award of a new project.

Core Responsibilities 

  • Lead the planning, design, and implementation of training, coaching, and technical support activities focused on effective evidence use.
  • Provide training, coaching, and technical support, including delivering instruction, serving as a thought partner to stakeholders, and building partners’ capacity to use data and evidence.
  • Provide expert guidance and hands-on support to education stakeholders, including, SEA staff and school- and district-level leaders.”=
  • Design, prototype, and deliver high-quality, engaging adult learning experiences—such as in-person and virtual workshops, webinars, communities of practice, asynchronous modules, and multimedia resources—that reflect adult learning principles and real-world education contexts.
  • Ensure training and technical assistance offerings are responsive to stakeholder needs, culturally and contextually relevant, and usable across diverse education systems and aligned with partnership goals and outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with applied research and development staff to ensure research findings are translated into practical tools and learning opportunities.
  • Coordinate with regional Comprehensive Centers and other federally funded technical assistance providers to maximize impact and avoid duplication of effort.
  • Monitor implementation quality and outcomes and continuously improve training and coaching approaches based on participant feedback and emerging evidence.

What We Value

  • Master’s degree in education, social science, public policy, or a related field with at least 13 years of experience or a PhD with at least eight years of related experience. 

  • Substantial experience providing training, coaching, or technical assistance to educators and education decisionmakers at the school, district, state, or equivalent levels.
  • Experience working within or closely with SEAs or LEAs; former SEA/LEA administrators or practitioners strongly encouraged.

  • Demonstrated expertise in adult learning design and facilitation, including both in-person and online professional learning environments.
  • Experience developing and delivering webinars, multimedia learning resources, and other digital professional learning products.
  • Strong understanding of evidence use, data-informed decision making, and evidence-based improvement in education.
  • Ability to communicate complex research or data concepts clearly and effectively to nontechnical audiences.
