Senior Researcher in Optics, Lasers, and Fluidic Dynamics - DTU Construct

DTU Construct is looking for a new colleague to participate in our activities around optical investigations, mainly in the field of fluidic dynamics.
This Involves creating new set-ups, maintaining old ones thus participating in the research projects of the department. Some involvement in teaching the fundamentals of optics to our students and PhD students will be expected.
Responsibilities and qualifications
To fill out this position we expect you to show documentation of your capabilities within the fields of:
- Linear and non-linear optics
- Construction of light sources (lasers, LED)
- Theoretical and practical experience with measurements of fluidic flows
- Optical measurement methods (PIV, PTV, LDA)
- Flow visualisation (e.g. Shadowgraphy, schlieren, event-based camera)
- Programming in C, Java and Python
- Experience in design of PCBs will be preferred
- Development of PyQt programs with graphical user interfaces for simulation and control
- Digital image processing and analysis
Preferred languages are Danish and English, both in writing and speaking.
You will be part of a skilled group of people who support the department in many different ways (e.g. automation and metrology), so multi-disciplinary projects outside the field of fluidic dynamics must be expected.
Acquaintance with DTU and the systems within will be an advantage.
You must contribute to teaching at the Department. DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. You are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages, and in time are expected to master both.
As a formal qualification you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) as well as academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding a position as a researcher or postdoc. To be appointed as a senior researcher, you must have completed a didactic/pedagogic education. If you do not have the necessary education, then it is possible to complete this requirement within a period of two years of appointment.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
