Job Summary:
Kawneer is seeking a motivated, accomplished, and experienced Engineering Supervisor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing engineering operations, ensuring the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and safety are met. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, and a passion for continuous improvement.
In this role, you will:
- Provide supervision and leadership to a team of engineers
- Develop and implement process improvements to optimize productivity and lower lead times
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives
- Offer technical guidance and support to team members
- Monitor and report on project progress, performance, and outcomes
- Level load work content across Technical Services Manager, Outsource Scheduler, and Engineering
- Coordinate with outsourced vendors on both price negotiations and schedules
- Manage workload of application engineering
- Onboard and train new hires
- Perform calculation packages for in-house projects
Essential Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in C-Beam, MathCAD, Aluminum Design Manual, Building Codes
- Ability to solve complex design issues while balancing schedule demands
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication (verbal and written) skills
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with customers and team members
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team
- Effective conflict resolution skills, with the ability to mediate and resolve disputes constructively and timely.
- Strong sense of accountability and ability to enforce team performance standards.
- Team oriented and able to teach principles of engineering and application of product
Also note:
- Less than 5% travel
You have: (required)
- Associate degree in Engineering or related field
- 3-5 Years engineering experience
- Ability to travel domestically if required
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Exceptional Candidates also have: (preferred)
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechanical Technology
- 3-5 Years experience with C-Beam and MathCAD
- PE Stamp license
- Or ability to obtain PE Stamp license within 3-5 years
Work Setting & Location:
- This position will operate in person in a professional office environment in Harrisonburg, VA
