Director, Equity Investment Management

ORIX USA is seeking to hire a dynamic and entrepreneurial Director within its Asset-Based Finance division. This role will focus on sourcing and evaluating bespoke private loans backed by equipment, esoteric assets, and core-plus infrastructure, playing a critical role in driving the growth and performance of the ABF platform. 

The Director, Equity Investment Management will be directly responsible for identifying, sourcing, and executing transactions. This individual will report to the Group Head of Securitized Credit and will work closely with senior leadership and investing teams to influence portfolio decisions and strategic growth initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Source and originate transactions, leveraging an established network. 

• Lead the due diligence process for loan originators, including financial analysis, operational assessments, and risk evaluations. 

• Develop and manage comprehensive cash flow models, providing detailed quantitative analysis to support investment decisions. 

• Oversee the full underwriting process, working collaboratively with junior team members to ensure rigorous evaluation of investment opportunities. 

• Build and maintain strong relationships with borrowers, financial sponsors, intermediaries, and industry stakeholders. 

• Contribute to portfolio management activities, including monitoring performance, identifying potential risks, and recommending strategic adjustments. 

• Represent ORIX USA within the broader investment community, enhancing the firm’s market presence and identifying new opportunities for growth.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

•   Lead the team to exceed business development and investment performance targets, identifying and capitalizing on new opportunities within the ABF sector. 

•   Set ambitious yet attainable goals that align with ORIX USA's strategic objectives, fostering a results-driven culture. 

•   Maintain a strong focus on sourcing new business opportunities to consistently surpass origination and revenue growth targets.  

•    Ability to navigate complex organizational structures, fostering strong internal and external relationships. 

•   Promote transparent and proactive communication, particularly on high-impact initiatives, to ensure alignment and collaboration across teams. 

•   Facilitate cross-functional discussions that drive consensus and support data-driven decision-making. 

•   Build and nurture a robust network of stakeholders to support business development and strategic growth.  

•    Develop and execute long-term strategies that anticipate market trends and position ORIX USA at the forefront of ABF investment  opportunities . 

•   Align business development strategies with evolving market conditions, driving sustained growth and competitive advantage. 

•   Contribute to the broader strategic direction of the firm by offering thought leadership and evidence-based  recommendations.
