Summary/Purpose
Will be responsible for operating multiple assembly machines (miniature bearings, clutch bearings and spring machines) using standard work practices, process prints, quality procedures and control plans to produce close tolerance parts that meet customer demand and specifications. Troubleshoot quality problems and perform quality checks as designated by frequency and sample sizes.
Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
• Maintain and continuously develop 5s system that addresses safety, housekeeping, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Operate multiple assembly machines (miniature bearings, clutch bearings and spring machines) using standard work practices, process prints, quality procedures, and control plans to produce bearings that meet customer specification.
• Meet productivity and quality standards. (Bekido, Chokko, and Yarijimai)
• Visually inspect, motor test, and gage bearing dimensions to ensure the parts meet customer specifications.
• Perform quality checks at set intervals and respond to SPC charts when quality issues are observed.
• Maintain accurate records to track production and quality issues.
• Notify Setters of any quality issues or problems with the assembly machines.
• Monitor and maintain necessary levels of component hoppers.
• Must have ability to be cross trained in other assembly load departments (Type 5, Type 4, Etc.) to meet fluctuations in customer demand.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Must possess good communication and people interaction skills.
• Must be disciplined to follow Standard Work Practices.
• Will be responsible for making decisions about quality problems using reaction plans.
• Must be multi-talked to make proper decisions with appropriate attention to detail to maintain the flow of product.
• Must have demonstrated good initiative in previous job or jobs. Must be a self-starter that can work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to read and interpret operation sheets.
• Ability to identify component and finish problem defects is desired.
• Must be willing to work overtime and flexible hours.

Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Previous Operator experience is preferred.

• Work is performed in a normal manufacturing area.
• This position has an exposure to moderate noise levels, moving mechanical parts, electrical power distribution and controls, compressed air systems, hydraulic systems, steam distribution and generation, water, various types of lubricants, mechanical machine operation, demagnetizers, etc.
• Will be regularly required to climb, stand, sit, and reach with hands, fingers, and arms.
• Occasional stooping, kneeling, and crouching are required.
• This position requires regular lifting of work up to 40 pounds.
