Summary
You will be a valued member of the team responsible for the day-to-day operations and administration of GPI’s health & welfare, leave and retirement plans. You will also coordinate plan compliance activities such as Form 5500 filings and plan audits, as well as coordinate with vendors in implementing plan changes and acquisitions. In addition to administration, you will provide consulting and analytical expertise in the design and implementation of programs.
Duties And Responsibilities:
- Partner with benefits enrollment and plan recordkeepers, vendors, payroll, HR technology and others to ensure that all plans are administered in accordance with plan documents and applicable regulations.
- Lead plan administrative processes to include resolving eligibility, data and contribution file errors; ensure proper calculation and posting of plan contributions and funding.
- Administer leave programs/policies in accordance with federal, state laws and provisions of collective bargaining agreements.
- Coordinate compliance activities such as non-discrimination testing, plan audits, Form 5500 filings, ACA filings, and COBRA.
- Act as a subject matter expert, responding to unresolved and escalated complex employee questions/issues.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of communication materials to engage employees on benefits while ensuring compliance with required notifications.
- Assist in evaluating and modifying policies and programs to ensure programs are current, competitive, and in compliance with internal and external legal requirements. Develop and analyze data to identify trends and issues.
- Support the implementation of program changes and business acquisitions; conduct system testing.
- Timely reviews and submits payments for vendor invoices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with at least 5 years of experience in health & welfare or savings plan administration. Large market benefits administration experience in a complex environment preferred.
- Experience in leave administration and defined benefits plans are a plus.
- Knowledge of federal regulations such as ERISA, PPA, IRC, ACA, ADA, COBRA, PBGC, SEC and DOL requirements.
- Experience with third party benefits administration systems, 401(k) recordkeeping systems and general familiarity with HRIS/payroll systems. Experience with Alight, Fidelity, Success Factors and/or SAP are a plus.
- Experience coordinating plan audits and implementing plan changes.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on confidentiality.
- Experience resolving routine to complex benefits compliance issues.
- Strong research, analytical, problem solving & project management skills with a focus on process improvements.
- Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize work on various projects.
- Ability to influence others in a team environment and drive change with a flexible & adaptive mindset.
- Strong skills in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
