Production - Floral Production Lead

Summary: The Department Lead-Production is responsible for aiding the Buyer in overseeing all aspects of the Production-made Design department, including team leadership, team development, managing inventory, creating floral arrangements, supporting seasonal sales efforts, and providing exceptional customer service. This position requires an ability to visualize ideas for floral decorations and home décor displays.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
• Personally assist in developing a culture that understands, demonstrates and is passionate about the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Lead a respectful work environment for all associates.
• Ensure compliance with all Stein’s policies and procedures through management.
• Ensure that each Production Associate fosters a friendly, helpful environment maintaining outstanding standards, demonstrating solid product knowledge and meeting all other components of the company’s guidelines.
• Under the direct supervision of the Buyer, assist in developing the operational plan for the Production-made Design department and ensures the quality and quantity of Production-made Design products support the goals of the categories and aid in the revenue growth of our retail locations.
• Collaborate with the Purchasing team on planning and developing a completive core product offering and in new, relevant product designs. Considers cost of components and assembly time associated with making each project; assists with inventory kitting.
• Collaborate with the Purchasing team to ensure Design component and supply inventories are sufficient to meet each project build plan prior to project start date.
• Assign daily and weekly tasks to the Production team to meet the build plan.
• Provide training and coaching to other Production Associates in all aspects of production duties to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to provide a consistent and exceptional finished product.
• Oversee that the final product is packaged securely and labelled properly for outbound shipment to all locations.
• Ensure accurate product inventory including appropriate on-hand counts and timely receipt of inbound deliveries for both Production warehouse 97 and Floral/Craft warehouse 98; completing discrepancy and/or defective merchandise forms as needed. Adherence to annual physical inventory policies and occasional cycle counts.
• Ensure a clean and safe work environment in the Production workroom and Floral/Craft warehouse 98.
• Ability to use and understand computer systems; including but not limited to inventory levels, transfers, style inquiries and printing price labels.
