Overview
Los Alamos Technical Associates, Inc. (LATA), a premier engineering and technical services with four decades of success, is currently seeking to fill the Maintenance Task Lead position at the Y-12 facility. The candidate will Oversee the maintenance staff in order to maintain systems, components, and processes in a high state of safety, readiness, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
• Implements the maintenance program for the project using best industry practices. Participates in the development of goals and objectives as well as policies and procedures.• Monitors work activities to ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and work control policies.• Plans, organizes, and monitors maintenance operations. Supervises, reviews and assistance with maintenance work carried out by maintenance staff (i.e., skilled tradesmen, helpers, and laborers).• Establishes schedules and methods for providing equipment and processing maintenance services.• Develops and maintains an equipment spare parts inventory• Provides technical assistance to the operations and engineering departments as requested.• Develops and organizes preventive maintenance inspection programs for all facilities, systems, and mobile equipment• Inspect buildings to identify maintenance issues such as clogged drains, leaky ceilings, and faulty electrical switches. Reports on findings and creating work assignments for maintenance staff.• Determines material, equipment and supplies to be used in maintenance activities.• Estimates costs, staffing, material, and equipment requirements for maintenance work• Monitors expenditures. Prepares cost estimates. Submits justifications for equipment• Assists in the preparation of requests for proposal and reports• Prepare documents for equipment procurement. Prepare specifications for contract services• Creates periodic reports such as work schedules• Ensures maintenance staff are adequately trained and equipped• Maintains and updates operating and training manuals for the maintenance department• Recommends corrective actions in order to prompt equipment failures or degraded performance• Provides direction and guidance to maintenance staff on maintenance-related matters• Prepares and administer budget according to plan. Monitors budget variances. Provides explanations on variances and takes appropriate action.• Follows organizational policies and procedures and ensures staff complies• Observes field maintenance work and ensures compliance of such work with work packages• Participates in plan of the day and pre/post job briefings• Maintains harmonious labor relations• Maintains proper spare parts inventory
Qualifications
• 5 years of progressive experience in maintaining, installing, and repairing a wide variety of equipment in a chemical or nuclear industry.• Two years minimum experience in a supervisory role in various union crafts. • A Department of Energy “Q”-clearance is preferred or the abilitiy to obtain one. • Experience in managing and developing a preventive and corrective maintenance program. • The ability to manage multiple tasks within budget and on schedule in a safe and compliant manner.
Pay Range
USD $79,027.50 - USD $142,224.90 /Yr.Apply for this role
