About the role

Job Description Summary

The Inspection Services Project Management Technical Leader will assume authorship and responsibility for all Project Management and Project Controls related processes and procedures. This leader will help improve upon the existing Inspection Services PMO standard work framework and lead the implementation of tools and compliance to this process.

This individual will review input from leadership that identifies gaps and resolve them with appropriate process/procedural updates and/or creation. Where processes are unclear or missing, this individual will coordinate the leadership team to shore up those processes/procedures. In addition to working the processes and procedures, this individual will advocate for and pursue appropriate tools to modernize the project management and project controls suite of capabilities.

The Inspection Services Project Management Technical Leader will work closely with the Inspection Services leadership to ensure gaps are identified and closed swiftly and effectively. This individual will lead process maintenance and improvement activities across Inspection Services Project Management to and ensure alignment with GVH processes.

The Inspection Services Project Management Technical Leader will also be responsible for execution of projects associated with Nuclear Inspection Services within GVH. In this role, the individual will work within the services division of GEH to manage the different Inspections work groups (IVVI, IVUT, ISI) at customer outages to facilitate project delivery.

The individual will report to the Inspection Services Director and will work to coordinate with business leaders to plan and execute project work scopes to meet required criteria (Integrity, Safety, Quality, Output) as they relate to project budget and scope.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Areas of responsibility will primarily serve Inspection Services processes, procedures, and guidelines to include but not be limited to executing both domestic and international field project delivery
  • Ensures OTR project management standards and practices are followed in accordance with business policies, and projects are delivered within KPI measurables
  • Identify opportunities to optimize OTR project management practice and improve efficiency
  • Align and integrate ITO process with OTR project management process to raise handoff efficiency
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement utilizing periodic review and revision incorporating the project management team
  • Define and deploy relevant training curriculum to expand Project Management and Project Controls knowledge
  • knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in area(s) of responsibility. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions
  • Acts as a SME for colleagues with less experience. Explains difficult or sensitive information; Works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field
  • Provide technical direction and guidance to contracted and craft labor in support of performing services and maintenance activities on customers' site/property
  • Ensure project metrics are met while delivering agreed upon contractual expectations for customers or procedural expectations internally
  • Project closure and review as depicted by stakeholders; Proper storage and turnover of data/information to business-approved storage medium

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 10 Years of Nuclear industry experience)
  • 3 - 5 Years of Nuclear Inspections Project Management experience
  • International Project Support – The ability to maintain access to and execute international project delivery

Eligibility Characteristics

  • Ability and willingness to travel 40% of the time
  • Ability to maintain Unescorted Access to and on customers’ site/property
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills
  • The preferred work location for this role is at the GVH Headquarters Wilmington, NC but qualified remote candidates will be considered<
