Vice President of Finance

Our client, a growing non-profit organization in the education space, is actively seeking a VP of Finance to lead their team. The VP of Finance will play a critical role in overseeing all finance, accounting, compliance, and reporting activities.
Responsibilities:
- Serving as a crucial member of the financial leadership team, the Vice President of Finance collaborates closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to ensure financial health and sustainability.- Oversees all financial operations, drives financial strategy, and provides leadership across the organization.- Working with the CFO, the VP of Finance contributes to strategic financial leadership to ensure the organization's stability and long-term growth.- Leading the development of budgeting processes involving all stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.- Assisting in the annual budgeting process, collaborating with senior management and program leadership to set realistic financial targets.- Continuously assessing financial performance, monitoring variances, and offering timely, data-driven insights for decision-making.- Generating financial forecasts considering various scenarios and external factors affecting revenue and expenses.- Providing regular financial reports, statements, and analyses to facilitate informed decision-making by the senior management team.- Ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or other relevant nonprofit accounting standards.- Analyzing the fiscal impact of grants, donations, and restricted funds on financial statements.- Ensuring grant expenditures and revenue recognition adhere to grant agreements and regulatory requirements.- Ensuring compliance with financial reporting requirements, regulatory standards, tax reporting, grant requirements, and accounting standards.- Empowering finance team members to excel in their roles and contribute to the organization's financial goals.- Collaborating with the Development Team to provide financial data and insights for grant applications, donor relations, and fundraising initiatives.- Collaborating with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process and address any audit findings.- Maintaining robust internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data.- Managing day-to-day finance operations, supervising a team of specialists, and having functional responsibility over accounting and grants administration.
