Salary Range:

$178,000.00 - $208,000.00

What's the Role?

Etsy is seeking a Senior Software Engineer II to join our International Engineering team. You will be joining a team of software engineers, building features and systems to enable our international sellers to reach millions of buyers globally.

The technology we build spans the full stack end to end; from user experience, to API design, backend service development, vendor integrations, and database design. Depending on the needs of the business our team may need to move up and down the stack, and in many cases collaborate with other teams to get to what needs to be done.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Manager, International Engineering. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.

For this role, we are considering candidates based in the United States. Candidates living within commutable distance of Etsy’s Brooklyn Office Hub or in the San Francisco Bay Area may be the first to be considered. For candidates within commutable distance, Etsy requires in-office attendance once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. International markets represent a significant portion of Etsy’s business with an opportunity to scale and mature over the next few years. The International team is responsible for defining strategy and goals that create engaging buyer experiences, solve seller problems, and drive profitable growth in non-US markets (like Dublin!).  The team includes members of product, engineering, marketing, and operations, and works collaboratively across all teams at Etsy. As the engineering arm of this effort, we work on building relevant user interfaces, backend systems, data, and relevant standalone services.

What's the day-to-day?

• Contribute at all levels; from front-end (HTML, CSS, JS, and relevant frameworks), to API design and back-end (PHP, MySQL, BigQuery), and standalone supporting services running in containers.

• Document technical design decisions, and give feedback to other team members on their design specs.

• Work cross-functionally with various teams for technical alignment and dependency management.

• Participate in code and design reviews and maintain high standards of code quality

• Mentor and guide junior engineers.

• Work with supporting functions, such as analytics, product management, and design, to make sure we are building the right product for the right set of customers.
