Department Overview

PG&E’s Underground Program organization is working to reduce wildfire risk each day as we underground 10,000 miles of distribution lines.  We are responsible for working across all internal teams and engaging external stakeholders to support successfully meeting our goals and reducing wildfire risk in our hometowns.  We work in an exciting and fast-paced environment. 

 

Position Summary

Business Analysts are responsible for research, data modelling, Program Finance Appraisals, Portfolio Cashflow Evaluation and reporting in support of business decision making, business strategy and business operations. May also be involved in business process improvement, quality control and special projects and other initiatives.

Responsibilities typically include many or all of the following:

• Data Modelling: Compiles and analyzes portfolio program level data. May develop and/or maintain complex data models for what-if analysis and for other business purposes.
• Metrics and Reporting: Tracking and development of Program level business metrics. Develops and maintains custom, ad-hoc reports, in addition to visual management materials based on lean methodology.
• Capital evaluation & Predictive Modeling: Develops or works with Program level capital finances and  creation of predictive models to provide outlook multi-year outlooks using conventional and or statistical methodologies.
• Research: Research best practices; develops internal and external benchmarks in support of business decisions. Creates and monitors productivity KPI’s.
• Quality Assurance & Business Process Improvement: May perform assessments on effectiveness and measure quality against business processes and lead improvement activities in support of the business. Activities may include developing, managing or coordinating performance or quality assessment, business process re-engineering, change management, communication and training.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory. This postion will report to the office three days a week (reporting may change based on business needs).
