Salary Level: Based on preparation level and experience per TEA Collective Bargaining Agreement. Range is $73,549 (BA+0 step 1) through $144,248 (MA+90 step 20)

Examples of duties
This position facilitates team professional development to enhance student learning, attendance, discipline, and testing; serves as team coordinator and works with the principal, assistant principals, and other staff to ensure an optimum learning environment for all students.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Develops and designs staff development in the academy to which teachers and other staff are assigned.
2. Works with staff on best practices for curriculum development and instructional strategies to close the achievement gap, improve instruction, and to create an optimal learning environment.
3. Develops, coordinates, and/or delivers in-service training to effect changes and improvements in curriculum delivery; facilitates the improvement of instruction through guidance, support, mentoring, modeling, and coaching; may demonstrate effective instructional delivery; models successful growth principles by setting professional goals and tracking achievement.
4. Works with staff to provide feedback on program and team effectiveness and provide suggestions for improvement.
5. Plans, organizes, and implements state required testing; coordinates process with District personnel and building staff to establish and maintain a successful testing environment.
6. Responds to inquiries from District staff and parents concerning materials, teaching methods, curriculum implementation and integration, and special projects pertaining to the academy.
7. Administers minor discipline to enhance student academic achievement and attendance; informs parent when assigning detention or Saturday School.
8. Monitors student attendance; calls and meets with parents regarding attendance issues; ensures BECCA requirements are met; supervises students in lunchroom, in hallways, on school grounds, and in any program held at the school under school district sanction.
OTHER JOB DUTIES
1. Organizes activities; makes plans in conjunction with staff advisory for “Academy Time”.
2. Participates in staff meetings and in-service training programs; attends related District meetings and related local, regional, and national association meeting as assigned.
3. Maintains and updates knowledge and skills required for success in the position by participating in professional development activities as needed or as assigned.
4. Performs related duties as assigned, on a temporary basis.
5. Regular, reliable, predictable, attendance or physical presence is an essential job requirement and critical to the performance of the work.
WORKING CONDITIONS
School environment; experiences frequent interruptions; may be required to work with, and defuse, if appropriate, difficult and sensitive situations and/or people; required to attend meetings and activities beyond normal working day; may be required to transport instructional materials and equipment and travel to District offices and other sites; may be required to lift and carry up to 20 pounds, bend, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, twist, climb, and/or be mobile.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field; Master’s degree in Education, preferred; minimum five years teaching experience; or any combination of experience and training which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and ability required to perform the work.
Licenses/Special Requirements
Valid Washington State Teaching certificate.
Valid Washington State Administrative credential encouraged.
Valid Washington State driver’s license and access to personal transportation.
