The Boeing Company is looking for Lead Interiors Systems Engineer to join our team in Tukwila, WA.

As a Lead Interiors Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for interfacing heavily with our customer, supplier, sub-tiers, and other Boeing teams to provide strong requirements management, certification, and program management to solve complex technical challenges.
The team will focal specific areas of the interior and drive technical resolution, integrated development, and change for areas including, but not limited to, passenger seats, lighting, ceilings, sidewalls, floors, monuments, and furnishings. Engineers will maintain conversations with our USAF counterparts to develop and maintain relationships and act as the ‘voice of the customer’ in supplier interactions.
Position Responsibilities:
Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions
Lead others to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces
Lead analyse to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture
Lead analyses for safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success
Lead, develop, maintain and identify improvements the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.
This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
10+ years of experience with systems integration
5+ years of experience establishing relationships and maintaining strong on-going communication with customers, suppliers and/or vendors
Experience working across multiple engineering disciplines
Proven experience as a self-starter with strong written and oral communication skills, and a focus on translating technically complex issues into simple, easy to understand concepts
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience leading projects through the design and initial implementation phases with handoffs to production installations
Experience directly interfacing with customers and senior program leadership
Experience with Military or Commercial Derivative Aircraft
Experience with delivery and certification processes, working with FAA regulations, and Regulatory Administration
Ability to take ownership / initiative, pull teams together, remove roadblocks
Experience working across multiple business units and/or complex organizations
Ability to work out of comfort zone, where process definition does not exist or is unclear
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
