Job Description
AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Planning professional to join our Environmental Planning and Permitting (EPP) team in our Anchorage, AK location. You will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering environmental planning, impact assessment, permitting, and mitigation planning services to our key clients. Our EPP team serves numerous federal, state and local government, non-governmental organization, and private industry clients, delivering a variety of resource management, infrastructure, and development-related projects. The role would include managing tasks involving NEPA documentation, technical studies, and permitting, hazard mitigation planning, and supporting business development activities. May serve as a deputy project manager, task manager, or technical specialist depending on the project assignment. Assignments include interacting with agencies and public.
Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
- Preparation of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation, including Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments, Findings of No Significant Impacts, and Environment Impact Statement sections.
- Task management including development and tracking schedules, and coordination with technical staff and clients.
- Tasks include occasional site visits, research, data collection, and technical writing.
- Assist in supporting marketing pursuits, preparation of proposals, and formulating cost estimates.
- Support senior staff with business development.
- Attend and/or present at project and public meetings and assist in preparing meeting materials and compiling meeting results, including PowerPoint presentations, and other materials.
- Manage small and medium-sized projects and serve as a deputy project manager or task lead on larger, more complex projects.
- Oversee the work of junior staff and mentor others.
- Work directly with clients and subconsultants.
*This position requires excellent written and spoken communication skills, organizational and time management skills, and flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients, site personnel and office management, and have the ability to work both independently and as a part of a project team.
