The Finish Team Lead supports the Crew Supervisor by coordinating and guiding daily operations within the Finish, Shipping, and Mailroom Departments. This role assists with planning work activities, leading and coaching employees, and ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and customer service standards are consistently met. The Finish Team Lead helps drive team performance, promotes a positive work environment, and supports continuous improvement to meet production and business objectives.
Assist the Crew Supervisor in planning, directing, and coordinating daily finishing operations
Lead, coach, and support employees to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals
Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations and company policies
Promote a safe work environment and support incident prevention and corrective actions
Coordinate staffing, schedules, and work assignments to meet production and customer demands
Monitor daily performance metrics, identify gaps to targets, and support root-cause analysis and corrective actions
Support quality standards by training employees and monitoring outgoing product compliance
Promote positive team morale and effective communication within the department
Assist with employee development, performance feedback, and administrative tasks
Collaborate with other supervisors and departments to support operational alignment
Support continuous improvement initiatives and process planning
Ensure work areas remain organized, clean, and compliant with standards
Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or lead experience, preferably in an optical, shipping/mailroom, or manufacturing environment
Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop employees to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives
Strong knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance requirements
Experience planning work schedules, coordinating staffing, and managing production workflows
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret production schedules, work orders, charts, and performance reports
Experience collaborating with supervisors and managers across departments
Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, and decision-making skills
Knowledge of quality management systems and continuous improvement practices
Strong customer service orientation and ability to manage internal and external customer needs
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
Proficiency with basic computer applications and production tracking systems
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and manage multiple priorities
Ability to meet physical requirements of the role, including light lifting and manual dexterity
Consistent attendance, punctuality, and adherence to company policies
