We are seeking an innovative Autonomy Engineer (Level 3 or Level 4) to join our team in Seattle, Tukwila, or Everett, WA. This role will contribute to the development of autonomous-system capabilities that support our products and align with the broader Boeing enterprise Autonomy initiatives.
The main role of the Senior Autonomy Engineer is to support BTI Autonomy by contributing to teams developing common mission-and-flight-autonomy capabilities for Boeing’s portfolio of systems. Due to the International nature of the role and business, there may be the requirement to support after hours meetings and calls, however flexibility is encouraged. Domestic and international travel may be required on an ad-hoc basis.
This role is a permanent position based in the greater Seattle area with hybrid conditions.
Position Responsibilities:
Execute on the day-to-day tasks related to algorithm and software design, development, integration and testing
Document technical solutions
Lead and/or support agile software development practices
Lead and/or support technical design reviews
Provide technical support and mentor for junior engineers
Support BTI Autonomy initiatives
Maintain awareness of external stakeholder engagement
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
Experience in algorithm design
Experience in design, development and testing software
Experience in development of Detect and Avoid systems
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
7+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to collaborate and work as part of a cross-disciplinary project team
Strong verbal and written technical communication skills
Knowledge of Real-Time Operative System (RTOS)
High assurance software development
Knowledge of model-based design (MBD) software development (i.e. Simulink autocode generation)
Knowledge of service-oriented software architectures for mission-management systems
Knowledge of vehicle-management systems/architectures
