 As the Assistant Vice President of Research Operations, you are responsible for the research operations and strategic growth across assigned sites, working closely with SCRI leadership and assigned sites in partnership with the Vice President of Research Operations. You will implement strategies, promote operational standards, and ensure the research services are coordinated across the assigned sites. This position works closely with the assigned sites’ administration, any associated facility administration, the physicians, and Sarah Cannon leadership.

  • You will work closely with the Vice President of Research Operations to provide administrative direction for the research operations of the assigned sites

  • You will assist in developing and executing SCRI internal and external strategies

  • You will provide operational oversight, leadership, and direction in the execution and management of trials at assigned sites

  • You will manage performance and development of all direct reporting colleagues

  • You will oversee clinical trial related activities completed/performed by the research staff to ensure completeness and accuracy as well as adherence to federal and state guidelines

  • You will manage, monitor, and operate within approved budget

  • You will assess organizational processes associated with trial execution and identify ways to improve and streamline internal procedures

  • You will monitor industry trends and participate in educational activities directed by SCRI

  • You will collaborate with assigned research administrative site leaders, practice administrative leaders, hospital administration, physician leaders, and all SCRI leaders to implement the research strategy ensuring high quality and efficient services while promoting growth

  • You will communicate regularly and routinely with the Vice President of Research Operations concerning enrollment, operational structure and challenges, status of meeting objectives, and quality while highlighting risks and suggested courses of action pertinent to the efficient operation of the research of the assigned sites

  • You will work closely with the Vice President to ensure the strategies, priorities, and operations of all assigned research sites are aligned and complementary to SCRI

  • You will work closely with the Quality Leadership of Sarah Cannon to obtain regular status reports, opportunity reports, risks, and plans to ensure the highest level of quality at assigned sites and report and/or escalate to leadership appropriately

  • You will report to Vice President on the status of all projects and objectives, highlighting areas where executive action is necessary.

  • You will ensure internal process and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are updated according to Good Clinical Practice

You should have for this position:

  • A bachelor’s degree, master’s level degree preferred

  • At least five years of experience at a leadership level

  • Broad-based business acumen and understanding of research practices and processes (operations, finance, technology, etc.)

  • Knowledge of oncology

  • Outstanding strategic thinking and management skills

  • Outstanding people leading skills of large teams

  • Success in partnering with healthcare administrators and physicians

  • Outstanding communication/presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively to varying audiences

  • Success in identifying partners and executing complex processes

  • Skills in successful project management, business analysis, problem solving and consensus building
