Micron Technology is seeking a results-oriented political law compliance specialist to serve as Political Law Compliance Attorney, reporting to the Director of Corporate Compliance & Investigations (CCI). This attorney will have experience navigating federal and state ethics rules governing elected officials, and lobbying-disclosure laws at the federal and state levels, including the Lobbying Disclosure Act (LDA). In addition to being able to forge strong relationships at leadership levels and within Government Affairs, he/she/they will build robust and scalable processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and partner with multiple stakeholders to build and enhance tools, systems, and measurements for the program.

Responsibilities

With oversight from the Director of Corporate Compliance & Investigations:

  • Manage outside counsel to provide guidance and ensure compliance on LDA and State Lobbying, government gift rules and ethics requirements, and PAC contributions
  • Design and enhance various political law compliance policies, programs, and controls (including those relating to conflicts of interest, gifts & entertainment, political donations, lobbying, etc.)
  • Coordinate the design, maintenance, and delivery of communications, training, and other enablement materials associated with the political law compliance policies
  • Oversee the design and implementation of tools, data analytics, and metrics supporting CCI programs
  • Work cross-functionally with legal, Government Affairs, sales, and business operations to ensure Micron is in compliance with extensive registration and disclosure requirements on entities and persons who attempt to influence public officials and employees.

Required Skills/Experience

The ideal candidate is highly organized, builds trusting relationships with internal stakeholders at various levels across the organization, adapts quickly to changing demands, demonstrates critical inquiry and attention to detail, and effectively articulates recommendations/conclusions. Strong project management skills plus a proven ability to help design and implement tools/processes are critical for success in this role.
 

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
  • 5-8 years professional experience working in political law, including at least 4 of those years working in-house at a multi-national organization (tech preferred)
  • Familiarity with global anti-corruption laws and regulations and enforcer expectations
  • Strategic and operational vision for designing, executing, and monitoring a political law compliance program
  • Experience aligning programs with a range of cross-functional and business partners
  • Experience in change management and driving adoption of new tools, processes, and decision support
  • Analytical mindset with impeccable attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and build consensus
  • Skillfulness in understanding, upholding, and instilling the values of the company
  • A proactive nature and “can-do” attitude
  • Ability to prioritize and manage deadlines in a fast-paced work environment

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$192,000.00 - $337,000.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.  The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations.  Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.  The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs.  Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
