Staff Accountant

Bell Plumbing is Hiring for a Staff Accountant to join our team!

Since 1926, Bell Plumbing & Heating Co. has proudly served the Denver community with quality service and trusted expertise. We’re looking to add a Staff Accountant to our team—someone who’s driven, detail-oriented, and ready to grow in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Salary: $60,000 – $80,000 per year, based on experience

What You’ll Do:

General Accounting

• Record journal entries and maintain the general ledger
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and balance sheet accounts
• Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Prepare account analyses and assist with audits and tax inquiries

Payroll Processing

• Prepare and process weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees
• Verify timesheets, benefit deductions, and withholdings
• Maintain payroll records in compliance with federal, state, and local laws
• Coordinate with HR on hiring, terminations, and pay adjustments

Financial Reporting

• Assist with financial statements and management reports
• Support budgeting and forecasting
• Help ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies

Accounts Payable and Receivable

• Review and process expense reports
• Manage invoicing and collections activities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 1+ years of relevant experience
• Proficiency in Sage Intacct and Microsoft Office (Excel & Word)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently
• Comfortable with change and shifting priorities
• Ability to maintain accurate records and clear audit trails
• Follows up on issues and communicates effectively with stakeholders
• Responds to requests in a timely and complete manner
