Sentara is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Acute Care Centralized Virtual Care Department.

Minimum Requirements:

*Valid RN license

*Five years of recent Stepdown Intermediate Acute Care experience required

*Epic EMR experience preferred

*BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certified

*Data entry skills, technology savvy

*High Volume virtual care video call center environment

*Must be available for a 9/16/24 start date

This position is NOT Remote and is located at the Sentara Independence office in Virginia Beach, VA.

Orientation will require direct patient care shifts onsite on Intermediate Care and Medical Surgical units at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital to assist with learning the virtual platform and workflow at the bedside.

This is a full-time Night shift position, 7 pm-7 am, Sunday through Saturday.

3-12 hour shifts per week.

Requires every other weekend availability.

Responsibilities:

Perform nursing duties virtually from the Virtual Care hub such as admissions, discharges, patient teaching, medication reconciliation, and much more.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care via a virtual monitor hub installed in the patient room as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

Job Summary

BSN or MSN preferred. Meets and maintains any requirements defined by specific specialty; Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire; Emergency Care - ACLS & PALS or ENPC within 1 year of hire; Oncology Care ONS/ONCC or Sentara approved course Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months of hire. Women's Care - Perinatal departments; NRP within 6 months of hire. Inpatient Pediatrics. PALS within 6 months of hire. All Direct Care RN's required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.

N-2YR - RN-Associate's Degree (Required), N-3YR - RN-Diploma (Non-degree) (Required), N-4YR - RN-Bachelor's Level Degree (Required), N-6YR - RN-Master's Level Degree (Required), N-DN - RN-Doctorate Level Degree
