Position Description
Ole Miss Athletics strives to advance a championship culture that develops, educates and empowers our student-athletes while providing a premier experience for the Ole Miss family.
Definition of Class
This position coordinates the daily operations of the Women's Soccer program. The incumbent oversees student workers (managers), coordinates team travel, purchases equipment and apparel, ensures compliance requirements are met, assists with recruiting and promotional activities, and works with student-athletes involving personal development activities.
Examples of Work Performed
• Coordinates team travel, including scheduling of practice sites, transportation, meal and hotel arrangements.
• Orders and exchanges equipment for student athletes and maintains inventory control of equipment.
• Assists with coordination of study hall, tutoring and other activities to ensure that academic needs are met.
• Oversees and assigns off-the-field duties for student managers.
• Assists with on-campus recruiting and represents the athletic program at functions as necessary.
• Communicates with visiting teams to ensure facilities are available and assist with other needs as they arise.
• Maintains a current player roster, squad list, and player/parent ticket list at home and away games to meet compliance requirements.
• Works closely with the department's compliance office to ensure all assigned tasks are in compliance with University, SEC Conference, and NCAA rules.
• Assists with fundraising efforts for soccer program.
Essential Functions
These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.
1. Coordinates the daily operations of a specific university athletic program.
2. Works with student-athletes involving personal development activities.
3. Stays abreast of compliance requirements and ensures all assigned tasks are in compliance with University, SEC Conference, and NCAA rules.
4. Assists with promotional and recruitment activities for the soccer team.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. (Master's degree obtained or in pursuit is preferred)
AND
Experience:
One (1) year of experience related to the above described duties.
Substitution Statement:
An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered for this role. Substitutions of the required experience or education will be assessed on a 1:1 substitution basis.
