Summary
The Restaurant Food Runner plays an essential role in delivering an exceptional dining experience by ensuring that each dish is served promptly, accurately, and in optimal condition. This position works collaboratively with servers and kitchen staff to maintain a seamless flow of service and uphold the highest standards of food quality and presentation. With a focus on efficiency, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality, the Food Runner contributes to creating a welcoming and memorable experience for every guest.

Key Responsibilities (What You’ll Do):
• Deliver Food Quickly & Accurately – Ensure meals are correct, properly presented, and delivered at the right temperature.
• Provide Outstanding Guest Service – Engage with guests courteously, answer questions about menu items, and accommodate special requests and dietary restrictions. Escalate guest concerns to management as needed, ensuring timely resolution.
• Maintain calm, welcoming, and professionalism throughout the Food & Beverage areas.
• Assist Servers & Kitchen Staff – Work as a team to ensure efficient service, communicate order modifications, and support restaurant operations.
• Maintain Cleanliness & Organization – Maintain a clean and organized workspace in both the kitchen and dining area. Clear tables, restock service areas, and keep trays, utensils, and stations organized.
• Ensure Health & Safety Compliance – Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling of allergens and hot dishes.
• Adhere to company policies, including time and attendance, meal and rest breaks, uniform and grooming standards, professionalism, and code of conduct.
• Deliver genuine, attentive, and personalized service to ensure an exceptional guest experience.
• Perform pre-and post-shift tasks, assist where needed, and perform other duties as assigned by management.

What We’re Looking For:
• Previous restaurant experience is a plus but not required—training provided.
• Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in food delivery and guest requests.
• Stand, walk, bend, push, pull, lift and carry up to 40 lbs. of multiple dishes and trays for extended periods and as part of daily responsibilities.
• Available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and as required by operational needs.
• Able to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures, conditions, and noise levels, particularly during peak events, high occupancy, and seasonal changes.
• Successfully complete all required training to include Food Handler’s and Alcohol Service Certification (or to obtain upon hire)

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
• Extended standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting/carrying as part of daily responsibilities.
• Carrying and balancing multiple dishes and trays.
• Working in a busy, high-energy restaurant setting.
• Exposure to hot kitchen equipment with varying noise levels, temperatures, conditions, and outdoor work depending on the season and when there’s an event.
