About the role

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Mid-Level Engineering Analyst/Project Engineer to join the Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) Ground Sustainment Services (LGSS) program to add to our distinguished team to sustain and enhance the Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) Common Ground System (CGS).  The JPSS CGS is responsible for implementing JPSS Program command, control, and communications and data processing requirements for JPSS CGS-serviced missions.  The JPSS is the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) next-generation operational Earth observation Program that acquires and distributes global environmental data from multiple polar-orbiting satellites, playing a critical role to NOAA’s mission to understand and predict changes in weather, climate, oceans, coasts, and space environments, which supports the Nation’s economy and protects life and property.  

 Responsibilities:  

  • Act as right-hand to the LGSS Lead Sustainment Engineer to: 
  • support any internal and external data calls 
  • handle various projects to solve problems in a key engineer capacity 
  • handle various projects to coordinate the solving of problems with the team 
  • develop relevant and concise presentations and reports 
  • Metrics development, gathering, and analysis for reporting status/progress of the teams to the LGSS customer 
  • Development and maintaining of dashboards and other status reporting methods 
  • Development of reports and recommendations by pulling data from various sources, determining the relevance and relationship of all the data, and then developing a precise but complete picture/report of the results 
  • Providing a clear, concise, visual representation of status and trends that convey meaning to the customer  
  • Apply a holistic view to information collection and analysis. 
  • Cost analysis and coordination of the team’s input responses to new contractual work (ROMs, ECPs, etc.); shepherding through the review and pricing process in a timely manner. 
  • Cost account management 

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

  • BS/BA in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Math, or related technical discipline or equivalent experience. 
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of Engineering Analysis experience with BS/BA, 3-5 with MS and 1-3 with PhD. 
  • Excellent MS Excel skills; Pivot Tables, Charts, and data cleansing and manipulation 
  • Familiar with the Atlassian tool suite, including Jira, Insight, Confluence, Risk Register, Crucible, Bitbucket, etc. 
  • Excellent MS PowerPoint skills 
  • Ability to write scripts and macros to assist with the automation of metric collection or other data uses 
  • Data Analytics experience and techniques used to extract, analyze, and report meaningful information to upper management 
  • Experience with software development methodologies and life cycles. 
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment. 
  • Familiar with working within a distributed virtual team environment, with proficiency in remote collaboration tools and practices. 
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
