About the role:
This position is responsible for directing the activities of the Research & Development System Test function as part of the Cardiac Diagnostic Solutions Ambulatory ECG business at Boston Scientific. The engineering systems manager oversees the design, development, troubleshooting and debugging of software for medical devices. This position also has responsibility for directing the activities of the software validation and verification. Develops quality standards for company products, oversees development and execution of software test plans and analysis of test reports.

- May be responsible for recruiting, coaching, and/or developing organizational talent.

- Monitors compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. compliance with FDA, BSI, EEO regulations, etc.).
- Makes decisions regarding work processes or operational plans and schedules in order to achieve department objectives.
- May be responsible for developing, monitoring and appropriately adjusting the annual budget for department(s).
- May lead a group or team of employees in the achievement of organizational goals. Guide, coach, direct, and develop direct reports, and if applicable, drive those practices throughout their organization.
- Foster a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.
- May direct and control the activities and budget of one or more functional areas, divisions, product groups, projects/programs and/or operations.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. federal/country and regulatory requirements).
Required qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer engineering or computer science
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in software engineering
- Minimum of 3 years’ people leadership experience
Preferred qualifications:
- Professional experience in a verification and validation role as an individual contributor or leader
- Experience in a medical device regulated development environment
- Proven ability to lead and motivate team
- Proven ability to create a positive working culture within a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to work across functional teams in a matrixed environment
