About the role

Reporting to the Director, IT Infrastructure, this position will be responsible for playing a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our technological infrastructure, analyze infrastructure needs and provide technology solutions to meet business requirements.

 

As part of your specific responsibilities, you will:

  • Administer and maintain backup solutions to ensure data integrity, availability, and efficient recovery processes.
  • Monitor backup jobs, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to optimize backup performance.
  • Oversee the configuration and administration of monitoring tools to ensure the proactive identification and resolution of system issues.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to fine-tune alert thresholds and response procedures.
  • Manage and maintain SQL databases, including performance tuning, backups, and routine maintenance tasks.
  • Provide timely and effective technical support to end-users, addressing system-related issues and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Escalate and coordinate with other IT teams or vendors when necessary.
  • Maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant team members.
  • Plan and execute system upgrades, including applying patches and updates to ensure systems are running on the latest versions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and provide technical expertise.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, management, and end-users.

  

The Requirements 

To meet the basic qualifications for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. To be a good fit for the Sr. Infrastructure & Operations Specialist opportunity, you will have: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in infrastructure technologies.
  • Proven experience as a System Administrator, with a focus on server management, backup solutions, monitoring tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Support mission-critical application support with 24X7 service level commitment.
    • Assist with technical projects and system migration efforts.
    • Delivering operational excellence while working both independently and in a team environment.
    • Adjusting work schedule to accommodate unexpected changes.
